1. CARRY MULTIPLE MEMORY CARDS
This is very important, because while a 32GB SD card is great, they are very easy to lose. Whenever I travel I make sure to bring 3 to 4 memory cards and revolve through them throughout my trip. Some days for shooting will be much better than others, so protect the “good day” memory card with your life. I do this by putting this memory card into a small secure pocket in my backpack.
2. GET A RELIABLE CARD READER
I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. My card reader on my computer quit working one day so I ran out and bought a cheap card reader (It costs me $3 I believe). It was one of the worst decisions I have ever made. This card reader corrupted all my files on the card (~500 photos). A good card reader will run you about $15. 3. KEEP EVERYTHING ORGANIZED
When you travel make sure that every thing has its place within your bag. I’m extremely forgetful so this really helps me. My camera chargers, passport and SD cards all have their place. This way I can do a quite scan over my bag and know immediately if I have everything! http://www.practicalhacks.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/DSC_1627.JPG
